Night Vision
Alexandre Christie “Night Vision” Collection, is a state of the art technology developed by Mb-Microtec of Switzerland, which allows reading of the watch in total darkness. The Light Emitting device, or “mb-microtec GTLS” ( gaseous tritium light source ) is sealed in a mineral glass tube coated with luminescent material. The light is produced when the electrons of the tritium strike the luminous phosphors on the inside of the glass tube.
Due to the Half Life of tritium gas ( aprox 12.3 years ), Alexandre Christie Night Vision Watch has a useful life of more than 20 years. The watch will continuously glow in the dark, and do not require charging from any outside source or power source. Our micro gas tubes glow up to 100 times brighter than luminous paints found in other watches.
Due to the very low energy level of the tritium gas, the electron is unable to penetrate the human skin, and can be stopped without any problem by a sheet of paper. Hence, the encapsulated tritum gas posses no risk to the wearer over the life of the watch. |
